Job Duties: This position involves standardized work duties, which follow well-established procedures. Duties include receiving and filing documents to include electronic filing, scanning/imaging documents, data entry, receipting monies, setting hearings, and maintaining court calendars. Will cross train in multiple areas of the district court and assist with caseload management as needed. This position requires excellent customer service skills, as it provides information and assistance to judiciary, attorneys, law enforcement agencies, state agencies and the public. Performs other duties as assigned by Clerk of the District Court.
Required Education and Experience: Graduation from high school or equivalency and one year of experience in clerical work.
Preferred Skills or Abilities: Applicants must have experience working with computer programs; understand modern office procedures and practices. Applicants need to be detail oriented, with the ability to prioritize, organize, and multi-task. Able to understand and follow oral and written instructions, and to make decisions in accordance with laws, court policies and procedures.

Pawnee County Highway/Weed Department is currently accepting applications for Equipment Operator II. This is a full-time position with benefits. Physical labor and mechanical skills are required for this position. The ability to operate a loader, spray truck, backhoe, dump trucks, semis & mowers is a plus. A valid Kansas Drivers License is required and a Class A CDL with Tanker endorsement is required within 6 months of employment. Pay based on qualifications. One (1) Position open for Sheriffs DeputyPawnee County is seeking an individual to fill a full-time position as a Sheriff’s Deputy. This position is responsible for performing uniformed deputy patrol duties and enforcing all federal, state and local laws and county resolutions.
Requirements: high school diploma or GED, valid Kansas driver’s license with no serious traffic violations, KLETC certification preferred but not required, must pass security background check, medical and psychological exams and drug screening. One (1) Position open for Jailer
Primary duties include those duties assigned by the Sheriff, Undersheriff, and Jail Administrator and/or Jail Lieutenant. These duties shall include, but are not limited to booking of prisoners, data entry, overseeing the general health and welfare of prisoners, feeding of prisoners, general cleaning and maintenance of the jail facility, record keeping, attending prisoners summoned to court, and any other duties as pertains to the orderly operation of the Pawnee County Jail. Co-lateral duties may be given by the Sheriff, Undersheriff, Jail Administrator and/or Jail Lieutenant. Additionally, this officer will be required to work any holidays and weekends his/her shift may fall upon. Will be required to change the hours of his/her workday to fill-in when needed on other existing shifts or special circumstances as deemed necessary by the Jail Administrator, Sheriff, or their designee.
